Once upon a time, there was a group of 3 girls and one boy; Emily Smith, Katherine Stein, Meredith Reda, and Timothy Thigpen. (Originally, the intended group was to have 4 girls, one of which was Timothy's twin sister Jessie. But on October 28, 2020; Jessie was adopted by the Lowell family. Timothy successfully replaced his sister as a member of this group.
One day, in 2023, they took a vacation to Washington DC. There were many buildings, but one special building had a total of 31 floors. Each floor has a person with a costume dressed up as one of a sequence of 31 people known as the Good People of the United States. Each floor is represented with a number, a person, and a period of time. The sequence is:
- George Washington (1789-1797)
- John Adams (1797-1801)
- Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809)
- James Madison (1809-1817)
- James Monroe (1817-1825)
- John Quincy Adams (1825-1833)
- Henry Clay (1833-1837)
- William Henry Harrison (1837-1841)
- Daniel Webster (1841-1849)
- Winfield Scott (1849-1857)
- Abraham Lincoln (1857-1865)
- Maria Mitchell (1865-1873)
- Susan B. Anthony (1873-1881)
- James G. Blaine (1881-1889)
- Clara Barton (1889-1897)
- Carrie Nation (1897-1905)
- Juliette Gordon Low (1905-1913)
- Edith Wilson (1913-1921)
- Nellie Tayloe Ross (1921-1929)
- Frances Perkins (1929-1937)
- Eleanor Roosevelt (1937-1945)
- Barbara McClintock (1945-1953)
- Ruth Handler (1953-1961)
- Rosa Parks (1961-1969)
- Avie Lee Owens (1969-1977)
- Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1977-1985)
- Sandra Bem (1985-1993)
- Janet Reno (1993-2001)
- Condoleezza Rice (2001-2009)
- Hillary Clinton (2009-2017)
- Kamala Harris (2017-2025)
Each floor has a person who is dressed up to imitate the appearance of the person the floor is associated with. For example, the first floor has a person who has a George Washington costume and the 31st floor has a person who has a Kamala Harris costume.
Each floor also has a place to eat. It serves berries, soft drinks, and cupcakes.
One special room in each floor is the meeting room. It is the room where people go to have discussions on whether the person on each floor needs to be changed. There's a rule for floors 13 and 15-31 that only female people are allowed to go to the meeting room. Not only in general but including the statement that preschool boys may not accompany their mothers or other women in the meeting room of any of these floors. (The purpose of this rule is to keep the sequence from moving towards an all-male sequence.) A notable example is that one day (long before the time of these people, back in 1849) there was dispute on whether Zachary Taylor or Winfield Scott should be the person on the tenth floor. By 1850, however, Winfield Scott was the only one of these people who was still alive, and so everyone agreed that he should be the person on the tenth floor (more properly, the person someone wears a costume of to meet people who visit the tenth floor of the building.)
A rule for the building in general is that no one who has coronavirus is allowed to visit it.
The 25th floor is one of the most exciting floors for many lovers of music. The woman who dresses up like Avie Lee Owens says, "I made a very nice coat of many colors for my daughter, and you should look at how nice it looks."
Some people who visit the 31st floor (Kamala Harris) think it is nice to get a view of what's outside when they look out the window. But others, mostly men, often insist that there should be a 32nd floor that is the first floor above the 14th that has a man. The man is John Lowell, and it is John Lowell himself, NEVER a random person who is dressed up like John Lowell.
The 4 people who were on this vacation (including Timothy Thigpen) all fall in the category of people who think that the 31st floor is for getting views of what's outside.
A special present that people get for visiting the building 10 times is a piece of paper that has a gallery of all 31 of the GPOTUS in order. Timothy himself really thinks a lot about getting such a gallery.
Timothy Thigpen himself is happy to have a complete memory of all 31 GPOTUS in order.
